Elevate Young Minds

Supporting the development of emerging artists, entrepreneurs and leaders in Manchester and across the world, they currently operate with a globally shared target of developing 10,000 young Artists, Social Entrepreneurs and Leaders, under the United Nations, Sustainable Development Goals.

They plan to achieve this through different programs delivered by Elevate Young Minds. Their longest running project was the Young Minds Matter program, which started in 2015 at Leeds Beckett University, with 20 local and international artists of different disciplines.

In 2016 they worked with 60 artists at EKA Palace in Lisbon (Portugal), and also prototyped the program in Tanzania with the support of Youth of United Nations Association. In 2017 they worked with over 100 artists at Anjos 70. And in 2018 they implemented YMM in Belgium (Brussels) with participation from 35 artists, as well as in Lisbon at Anjos 70 with over 100 participants.

Other programs that support the developmental agenda of EYM include - Break Dance Manchester’s community solutions, our BAME Paradox Forum, Face Festival, Anarchy Film Festival, and Rotation Dance Exchange.

In 2022, Elevate Young Minds were awarded £2000 in the Bayo Small Grants Programme. The fund enabled them to deliver 2 debate clubs in Manchester by collaborating with Equal Education Chances and Kyso. Both organisations facilitated engagement with young people interested in debate and discussion. They delivered their Model of United Nations Curriculum in hybrid sessions to share the joy of debating to learn and practice diplomacy.

Participants embraced a common learning space for Black youths, made friends locally and internationally and became a part of a global spirit for Youth Leaders. The sessions were significant in supporting participants ahead of their travel to France to attend the Model of United Nations hosted by Spil University Debate Society. An Elevate Young Minds participant was crowned the best delegate of the entire gathering! This was such a proud moment for the organisation, seeing their debate club coming out on top at their first international gathering.
